Layer 1 runs internal checks in under 50 milliseconds: RFC 5322 syntax validation, MX record lookup (does this domain have a mail server?), disposable domain detection against 30,000+ known providers, and catch-all domain detection via DNS.

Layer 2 is conditional. For leads that pass basic checks but score below the confidence threshold, Superkabe calls MillionVerifier's API for an SMTP-level probe. This only triggers when needed — on your Growth plan, roughly 20-30% of leads hit the API. On Starter, it is internal checks only. Domain-level caching means if bigcorp.com is detected as catch-all, one API call covers every future lead at that domain.

The result: every lead gets a validation score (0-100) and a classification — valid, risky, invalid, or unknown. Invalid leads are blocked and never reach your sending platform. Risky leads are routed with per-mailbox risk caps so no single mailbox eats a disproportionate number of bounces.
